Are there likely to be further changes in the future?

The intention of unions and employers is to keep the cost of LGPS 2015 stable so that further fundamental changes are not needed. The agreement reached set out a two stage process to scheme reform. The first stage centred on benefit design. The second focused on cost management and reform to the governance of the scheme including the involvement of employers, trade unions and members in the decision-making and running of the LGPS.
